Shipping

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. We offer free standard shipping on all orders within the contiguous United States. We do not charge handling or processing fees.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we only ship to addresses within the contiguous United States. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, APO/FPO addresses, or international addresses.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days. Estimated delivery time is 14–19 business days after shipment. The extended delivery window reflects the specialized packaging and climate monitoring required to ship live trees and plants safely.

How will I know when my order ships?

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping-confirmation email with a tracking number and a link to monitor your delivery in real time.

Will my items ship together?

If your order contains multiple items — for example, a 3-gallon Kumquat tree and a smaller potted Mint — they may ship separately and arrive on different days. You will receive separate tracking information for each shipment.

Live Trees and Plants

How are live trees packaged for shipping?

Each tree is secured in custom packaging that includes root-zone insulation, structural support to protect branches and fruit, soil containment barriers, and ventilation openings. During extreme heat or cold, we may delay shipping by 1–2 business days to protect your plant.

What should I do when my tree arrives?

Open your package within 24 hours of delivery and water your tree thoroughly. Trees may show temporary drooping, minor leaf loss, slight yellowing, or soil displacement after 14–19 days of transit. These are normal responses and typically resolve within 1–2 weeks with proper care.

We also recommend placing your newly arrived tree in a shaded area for 3–5 days before moving it to full sun, to allow gradual acclimation.

Will my tree look exactly like the photos on the website?

Trees are living organisms and naturally vary in height (within the stated range), fruit count, leaf density, branching pattern, and overall appearance. For example, a Kumquat tree listed at 2–3 feet with 15–20 fruits may arrive at 2'2" with 12 fruits or 2'10" with 22 fruits. These are all within normal range.

My tree arrived damaged. What should I do?

Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographs of the tree and its packaging. We will arrange a replacement or full refund. Damage reports received after 48 hours may not be eligible for resolution.

Are your citrus trees grafted or grown from seed?

Our citrus trees are nursery-grown and well-established. Specific rootstock and variety information may be available upon request. Contact us at info@kimthaigarden.com for detailed horticultural information.

Will my citrus tree produce fruit immediately?

Our citrus trees arrive bearing fruit. However, fruit production may slow or pause temporarily while the tree acclimates to its new environment. With proper sunlight, watering, and care, most trees resume fruiting within a few months.

Can I grow a banana tree in a pot?

Yes. Both our Dwarf Banana and Double Hands (Banana Hands) varieties are well-suited for container growing. They require a large pot (15+ gallons), full sun, regular watering, and warm temperatures. They can also be moved indoors during cold weather.

What is the difference between Dwarf Banana and Double Hands?

The Dwarf Banana (3–4 FT, 24.99)isacompactvarietythatproducesstandardsizedbananaclustersandisidealforsmallerspaces.TheDoubleHands(alsocalledBananaHands,34FT,24.99) is a compact variety that produces standard-sized banana clusters and is ideal for smaller spaces. The **Double Hands** (also called Banana Hands, 3–4 FT, 34.99) is named for its distinctive double-row fruit formation, producing two "hands" of bananas on each stalk — a unique and visually striking variety.

What is Calamansi?

Calamansi (also called Calamondin) is a small, highly aromatic citrus fruit popular in Southeast Asian cuisine. The fruit is tart and fragrant, perfect for making fresh juice, cocktails, marinades, and sauces. Our Calamansi tree (2–3 FT, 20–30 fruits) is one of the most productive varieties in our collection.

Are your herbs suitable for indoor growing?

Yes. Our Sweet Basil, Mint, Lemongrass, and Sweet Potato Leaves are all well-suited for indoor growing on a sunny windowsill, under a grow light, or on a kitchen counter. They require at least 6 hours of sunlight or equivalent artificial light per day.

Can I eat the fruit from my citrus tree?

Absolutely. All citrus fruits from our trees are edible and fresh. We recommend washing the fruit thoroughly before eating. Fruit may show minor surface blemishes from transit — these are cosmetic and do not affect flavor or quality.

Returns and Refunds

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to request a return. All products, including live trees, plants, and herbs, are eligible. Items must be in substantially the same condition as received.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. We cover all return shipping costs. A prepaid return-shipping label will be provided at no charge upon authorization of your return.

How long does it take to receive my refund?

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank may take an additional 5–10 business days to post the credit.

Can I return a live tree?

Yes. Live trees may be returned within 30 days of delivery. The tree must be in substantially the same condition as received — meaning it has not been repotted, heavily pruned, or had its root system removed from the grower pot. Natural variations in fruit count, leaf density, height, or growth pattern do not affect return eligibility.

How do I start a return?

Email us at info@kimthaigarden.com with your order number and the reason for your return. If the item arrived damaged or is not what you ordered, please include photographs. We will respond within 24 hours with return instructions and a prepaid shipping label.

Can I exchange my tree for a different species?

Yes. Contact us at info@kimthaigarden.com within 30 days of delivery. We will confirm availability and guide you through the exchange process. A prepaid return label will be provided for the original item.

Plant Care

How often should I water my citrus tree?

Water your citrus tree when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry to the touch. Generally, this means watering every 7–14 days depending on climate, pot size, and sunlight exposure. During summer or in hot, dry climates, you may need to water more frequently. Ensure your pot has drainage holes — citrus trees do not tolerate standing water.

How much sunlight does my tree need?

Citrus trees and tropical fruit trees require full sun — at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Flowering plants like Bird of Paradise and Frangipani also prefer full sun to partial shade. Herbs need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight or equivalent artificial light.

When should I fertilize my tree?

We recommend fertilizing your citrus or tropical tree every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring through fall) with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer formulated for citrus or tropical plants. Reduce or stop fertilizing during winter dormancy.

My tree is losing leaves. Is it dying?

Not necessarily. Some leaf loss is normal, especially during the first 1–2 weeks after shipping as the tree adjusts to its new environment. If only a few lower leaves are yellowing or dropping, this is typically part of the plant's natural cycle. However, if you notice rapid, widespread leaf loss, wilting, or dark spots, contact us at info@kimthaigarden.com with a photo and we will help troubleshoot.

Can I keep my citrus tree indoors year-round?

Yes, in a sunny location near a south-facing window with at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight. However, citrus trees generally produce more fruit outdoors. If you live in a cold climate, you can move your tree indoors during winter and return it outdoors when temperatures are consistently above 50°F.

How do I protect my tree from frost?

Citrus and tropical trees are frost-sensitive. If temperatures are expected to drop below 32°F, move potted trees indoors or to a sheltered, covered area. For in-ground trees, cover with frost cloth overnight and uncover in the morning.
